Nestled in a city park, Atascadero Lake offers a loop-around walk of sorts alongside tranquil shoreline flanked with cattails. Gander at the great blue herons, pintails, mallards and egrets that frequent this constantly fluctuating water-level lake. Don your best iPods or headphones, zone off and loop it back around for a multi-mile trek, as this municipal walkway is pretty short.
